Proverbs 20:6   Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

According to our text verse, we hear that most people will tell you how good they are if you will just ask them.

The lost people in the town where you live will steadfast tell you how good they are in comparison to anyone they can think of that is not quite as bad as they are.  For instance, I have met and talked with lost people that do not claim any religious affiliation that do not drink, smoke or cuss.  These folks proudly tell me how good they are by comparison.  So does the drinking, smoking, and cussing crowd.  “I am not as bad as _______.”

The church people in the town where you live also have a knack for telling how good they are as well.  They compare themselves to folks that “do drugs” or “smoke and drink” etc.  Everytime the most of them proclaim their own goodness.

You may want to underline in your Bible the word “faithful” in v.6 as that is the thing we must examine ourselves over.

Right quickly and without excuse, did you pray, read the Bible, study the Bible, go to church everytime the doors have been open, witness to lost people, or minister to other Christians during their time of need in the last twenty four hours? Or the last week, month, or year?

As soon as the words “Well I did not, but…” - STOP!!! You are not faithful.

Have you been soulwinning this week Christian? You have probably blew off steam on how you do not agree with _________ or even “corrected” somebody.

Did you pray at all?

As soon as the words “Well I did not, but…” - STOP!!! You are not faithful.

Did you tithe and give an offering?

As soon as the words “Well I did not, but…” - STOP!!! You are not faithful.

To sum up on how soon the Rapture of the church is consider what Jesus said in Luke 18:8.

Luke 18:8  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Dr. Bob Jones Sr. rightly said, “The greatest ability is dependability.”

Are you faithful to Jesus Christ?
