In the last few years I have noticed an alarming trend of men who "surrender" to
preach or to be full time evangelist, or that go to the mission field that never
attempt to win souls where they are. I have seen first hand how evangelist will
go into a church and preach how that the members should win souls, pass out
tracts, etc. Then go to a restaurant after the service to fellowship with the
pastor and other visiting preachers where they never even leave a Gospel tract.
The reason they do not leave one is because they do not carry them.
Missionaries surrender to go half way around the world win souls, but never show
up at their own church on visitation. Why go to the deepest darkest jungles
while your Jerusalem goes to Hell?
Why are these like this? Most probably are not called of God to do anything like
they have surrendered to. Either their wife has pushed them into this, or they
are wanting what they think is glory for themselves. Paul did not think that.
He wrote under the inspiration of God in First Timothy chapter four verse ten,
"For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the
living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe."
Did you notice he said "labour and suffer reproach"? Most change churches to
avoid this type of thing!
Evidence of the powerless preachers can be seen in the dead and dry sermons that
lack any real authority in their preaching. I am not talking about just the dry
preachers that are monotone, but the animated ones as well. They spend their
time correcting God's Book with their peers or in classes then proclaiming it to
be the Word of God to the people that come hear them. What hypocrites!
Please, quit the ministry if God has not called you. You are killing us that He
did call.
If you are God called, attend soul winning visitation, get you some Gospel
tracts, and spread the seed of the Word of God.
